Bologna continue their excellent form with six wins in the last eight rounds, conquering Torino with super-sub Thijs Dalling and Tommaso Pobega goals, despite an early penalty miss.

The Granata finally ended their six-game winless streak with a 1-0 away to Empoli, but Saul Coco sat out a ban, with the usual Duvan Zapata, Zanos Savva, Perr Schuurs and Emirhan Ilkhan injured. The Rossoblu were on fine form after beating Fiorentina, with Michel Aebischer, Dan Ndoye and Nicolò Cambiaghi out of action, but Riccardo Orsolini returned.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Bologna received a controversial penalty early on, as Emil Holm had already pulled back from the by-line when Borna Sosa continued the sliding tackle and went into his ankle, but the kick was awarded following a VAR review. However, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved the central Santiago Castro spot-kick to keep Toro level.

Borna Sosa also failed to make the most of a Marcus Pedersen cross when volleying wide, but Torino lost Sebastian Walukiewicz when he was stretchered off with breathing difficulties.

Sam Beukema did just enough to stop Yann Karamoh getting the shot away when running on to the Guillermo Maripan through ball.

Remo Freuler rolled across the six-yard box to force some desperate defending, then his cross was turned wide by a diving Castro header.

Bologna increased the pressure on the hour mark with a long-range Tommaso Pobega scorcher that thumped the underside of the crossbar and bounced back out.

They were almost made to pay for the wasted opportunities when Jhon Lucumi charged down the Samuele Ricci scorcher from the edge of the area.

However, Bologna broke the deadlock when Dallinga came off the bench and 42 seconds later scored with his first touch, sneaking up behind Adam Masina to tap in the Juan Miranda assist from six yards. It was his first goal for the club.

Bologna had the ball in the net again on 80 minutes when a free kick was not cleared and Pobega’s finish went through the legs of Dallinga, who was flagged offside. However, VAR showed he was level and the goal was given.

This win means Vincenzo Italiano has exactly as many Serie A points as Thiago Motta did on the Bologna bench at this stage last season.

Torino 0-2 Bologna

Dallinga 71 (B), Pobega 80 (B)

Saved penalty: Castro 9 (B)
